Die Stadt Kodaikanal liegt in ca. 2200 Metern Höhe  im indischen Bundesstaat Tamil Nadu und hat ca 33.000 Einwohner. Auf Grund des angenehmen Klima zählt der Ort zu den belieten Touristenzielen. Die Hauptsprache Tamil Nadus ist das Tamil die aich auf Sri Lanka als Muttersprache gesprochen wird.

58 m hoch und 56 m breit ist das imposante Taj Mahal, das wie kaum ein anderes Bauwerk für Indien steht.
Bei dem Bauwerk handelt es sich um ein Mausoleum, welches der Großmogul Shah Jahan zum Gedenken an seine 1631 verstorbene Hauptfrau errichten ließ.
